About the author

Bert has over 40 years in the drilling industry, with worldwide experience in wide-ranging, oil, gas, and geothermal operations. Bert has been a well site supervisor, directional driller and Drill Planning Center coordinator in drilling operations around the globe. Bert has experience on conventional, horizontal extended reach and multi-lateral wells. Offshore and land operations include managed pressure, under-balanced, and air-drilling operations. Bert was the course founder of the SDI directional drilling school and its instructor for over 15 years. Additionally, Bert was the course founder and lead instructor for the OXY school of drilling practices. He continues to serve the drilling industry as an independent consultant.
